Suburbia Helps Coquitlam Centre “Strut” for a Good Cause

13 May 2008

VICTORIA (BC) – Suburbia Advertising is pleased to announce that it has helped Coquitlam Centre develop and launch its first annual “Strut” -- A Fabulous Evening of Spring Fashion for a Cause. The event took place May 1st at the Red Robinson Show Theatre in Coquitlam.  Strut is the Centre’s signature fundraising event for spring benefiting Variety – The Children’s Charity and Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation.

Following a very successful re-branding of the Centre in 2007, Coquitlam Centre was anxious to develop an integrated spring campaign that both showcased the new creative and brought it to life in a way that supported its “fashion destination” positioning in the Tri -Cities area. The recent arrival of H&M and Aritzia made the decision to host a fashion show event an easy one.

“Our advertising creative really speaks to the reasons why people love to shop,” says Deborah Stetz, Marketing Director, Coquitlam Centre. “Strut celebrates those reasons, and also brought our community together to help raise money for two worthy causes.”

The campaign was promoted with newspaper, television, and radio advertising, along with email and a micro-site that included an on-line auction for packages including the Ultimate Shoe Wardrobe and the Ultimate Girl’s Night out. In-mall promotion included a Paris Hilton look-alike contest and specially created makeup stations by the Body Shop.

“It’s an exciting, integrated and extremely relevant campaign,” says Virginia Boggie, Director of Client Services at Suburbia Advertising. “The energy and support for the project has been incredible.”
